First elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, her leadership on the City Council has resulted in transformative policies that prioritize equity, accountability, and community investment.

Tenant protections and housing affordability

  • Passed the Rent Stabilization and Just Cause Eviction Ordinance in 2021, later solidified by voters in 2024.
  • Allocated $24 million for affordable housing, including Wise Place Transitional Housing.

Public safety and infrastructure

  • Established the Police Oversight Commission in 2022 to enhance transparency and accountability in law enforcement.
  • Reduced 911 response times by voting to expand the police force in 2023.
